Upgrades to items allow players to increase the gear score of an item up to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For instance, a perfectly broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons don't change much after an upgrade, and aren't worth the effort.

Weapons

Armor items can be upgraded to improve their performance. This can boost the base defense of a helm or chest, while belts and gloves will increase their required strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it is able to reroll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain when upgrading, along with the relative value of those stats. This means that the weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. Armor
