The Best robot vacuum cleaner Hoover

The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and it will leave your floors spotless. Its price is affordable and its high-end features (such as a dirt detectors) are positives.

Be sure to regularly inspect your robot's brushes for tangled hair and large particles and wash them if needed. Some models can also automatically empty their onboard dustbin into a larger bin at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've examined. They have motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model) they employ smart mapping to produce precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles like cords and furniture leg. The robots also feature Carpet Boost, a feature that boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests of floors with no carpet and are especially adept at cleaning hair from dogs. There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our top option. One of them is that the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to become entangled in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of a room.

It's still a great deal, especially if your office or home has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also quiet and works when you're at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. If you're in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also features strong suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, but it falls behind some competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensor technology that can keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time and provide better cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and customize zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to take off and extend its mops. This will help prevent cross contamination. Its flex arm is great for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire home, and it did so with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did a good job cleaning a range of floors and rooms with various flooring types, such as some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it stayed clear of fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles cables.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically fills up its base, and supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

This mop and automatic vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular look that looks more like a regular Roomba model than the boxy units of the competition. It's among our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It has advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has an exemplary 10/10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has an intuitive mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a concern in the mornings prior to work or in the evening when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and a little more cost it's a efficient two-in-one device that should delight most.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and detect obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its top competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum cleaner comes with the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house in accordance with the amount of dirt they tend to be.

For larger homes it's recommended to choose a model that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one particular area of your home by using the app or voice controls. If you have lots of furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. Finally a recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you'd think from its price. It is a great job vacuuming, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad and a reciprocating movement which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tried. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, arrange an area for cleaning or to prioritise your dirtiest rooms to ensure better performance. The app also grants access to many features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It features an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction as well as intelligent combs to remove pet hair. And you can create a spot-clean that intensely cleans a localized area.

robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room-while-wom-2024-11-07-13-20-10-utc-min-jpg-original.jpgThe Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It's good robot vacuum at vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to be caught by low thresholds and is noisier than the other top robotic vacuums we've examined. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that can't be used as an emptying bin.
