Then, locate the battery's hatch and then open it with the flathead, a coin, or other similar tool. Then, carefully pull out the battery by lifting the side closest to the hook on the key-ring. After the battery is removed, insert the new one in its socket. Make sure that the positive side of the battery is facing up, and that all clips are seated. Note: Older Volvos are powered by a different kind of battery one called the CR2025. CR2025 batteries have the thickness of 7/10ths one millimeter less than CR2032, so you'll need to be very careful when replacing your battery.
