The best automatic vacuum and mop robot vacuums best Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpgHe tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, with a focus on mopping and robot automatic vacuum cleaner and mop combos. These multitaskers are an excellent choice for those who want to get mopping off their to-do list. They have impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some even wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that can also mop, this is the model you should go for. It is smaller than other options and makes it more maneuverable in tight spaces or under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in robot vacuums. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to top up its battery halfway through a clean.

It's extremely quick and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hallways with just one motion. Its 8,000pa motor is able to pick up dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes into contact with rugs, and the dual side brushes help draw away debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as effective. The rotating mop spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms extend out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful to get into tight corners and along baseboards. Those same front arms can also be employed to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys or books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to set up and works well however this is something you'll need to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the purpose of it mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mop vacuums that mops in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it a great option for homeowners looking for an efficient, flexible, and customizable cleaning machine.

The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the home and identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and efficiently. This ensures a thorough and consistent clean, while also being relatively fast.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach many different surface areas. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach spots. The side brush can be stretched out to extend to the floor, close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to remove odors and prevent buildup.

Another noteworthy feature is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the intensity of its suction and choose between a back-andforth, or a more randomized pattern. You can also alter the number of passes it will make, which will affect the speed at which the device can traverse your home. You can also deactivate the side brush in order to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.

It's expensive, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to note, however, that the device will incur periodic costs in the form of mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For example, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.

This robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and comes with a wide array of physical automation features. It has a power button that serves as a general "Clean' button and a 'Home button that sends it back to its base station after completing its cleaning session. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and wash and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good choice for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home tidy without spending too much time on chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean house with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two modules which include a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module that has a microfiber pad. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated but they're a good thing because you don't have to think about changing bags for disposables or refilling the water tank.

Our testers discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature is its precise floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair from pets. It was able to collect the majority of hair that our cats shed, and even was able to get into the nooks and crannies of our stairs which other robots struggled. It was relatively silent and also had a few pleasant jingles that let you know when it was about to start or finished its work.

Its main drawbacks were its simplistic app and the necessity to change out the modules whenever switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app doesn't have the capacity to contain multiple maps, which could be a pain for homes with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who are looking for a smart device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it has some unique features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its enormous dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin as well as an 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base comes with a few control buttons, which allow you to manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot, or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock which is a great feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could sometimes get so entangled with an obstruction, such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. This was a rare occurrence, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert on its app.

Another potential downside is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually swap between the two, which isn't a big deal aside from the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.

On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome sight in a space that is dominated by bulky boxes and clunky models.
