In this video, Charles the Humble Mechanic shows how to replace the G28 engine speed sensor. The sensor is located on the outside of the transmission just above the flywheel gear. It sends a message to the ECU via the grey wire T55/49 and then to the tachometer on the instrument cluster.

The sensor is located at the edge of the transmission just above the flywheel ring gear the G28 Engine Speed Sensor sends signals to ECU pin T55/49 via the grey wire. The ECU then uses this information to control the boost, fuel, and timig. It also sends an indicator to the G5 Tachometer in instrument cluster.

The sensor is used to link the G40 Camshaft position Sensor. The ecu needs to know when the crankshaft is TDC and the location of the camshaft so it can start spark and injectors in the right way.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will display an error code P00160. This means that the Crank Shaft is not in sync with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of an issue with the chain or Car Key Replacement Audi a jumped chain link in the upper timing chain. The code won't show without the additional information provided by other sensors (G4 or G40).

It's a bit tricky to test because there are different pins on the connector, and each has its own functions. The most effective method to test it is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. When the sensor is fully operational, it should be reading approximately 1000 ohms. Check for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay if there are issues with this part.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, when i was accelerating to the fullest speed from highway paytoll i had an abrupt drop in power as if the engine was running out of gas or the injectors are not firing at all. In the morning, i removed the spark plugs, 3 were drenched in gazoline, the 4th one was dry. I put tissue over each hole in the injector and when i turn the engine on without sparks, the three with gazoline jump right out. The fourth one remains shut. I tested the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I got zero ohm. I think the issue is in another location.

I also tried to reset the PID but with no luck. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it runs fine with the G28 connected. However, the intermittent misfire problem still occurs at higher RPM. The coolant temperature sensor (G62) shows the wrong temperature of -49c, even if I unplug it. Also, i noticed that the gauge for oil pressure in the cockpit is showing 2 bar, whereas the actual pressure is 0.0 when I crank up the engine.

I'm not sure what to do, i think i've pretty much completely ruled out all other possibilities. But i'm worried that I may have missed something. If anyone has any suggestions, please share them! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 can be activated by a signal by the RPM sensor. The GM-style sender is identical to the G4 and they both work in the 80 100 200, UrS and RS2 cars so you can easily find one at a wrecking yard or from a parts store. It is easy to test them: simply put your DMM into resistance mode and measure the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump at the connector end facing up). They must be infinite ohms.

4. ECU

The ECU in our 20vt turbo (3B AAN ABY ADU) engines must know the speed and position of the crankshaft in order to make a decision about timing of fuel injectors, etc. It makes use of a Crank Position Sensor G4 and an Engine Speed Sensor G28 to achieve this. If you are experiencing issues with either one of these, the diagnostic scanner will show codes that could lead to the engine shutting down.

The signs of a failed G28 sensor include an inaccurate rev counter in the gearbox, gears shifting quicker than normal and/or misfiring when in gear. It is likely that the sensor is failing and requires to be replaced if you experience any of these symptoms. They are cheap and easy-to-find especially if they're a Bosch model like ours. Alternatively, GM's version of this component is an option.

5. Tachometer

A damaged engine sensor could cause a myriad of issues in your vehicle. It is an important part of the transmission of your audi Replacement Key Cost uk since it sends information to the ECU regarding how fast or slow the replacement car key audi's engine is turning. This sensor can cause the transmission to malfunction and other components of the car to be affected.

The G5 engine sensor is located near the edge of the transmission, over the flywheel ring. It sends an electrical signal through an uncolored wire to the ECU pin T55/49. The ECU utilizes this signal to regulate fuel and boost, and also to timigrate. It also relays it to the G5 Tachometer inside the instrument cluster. You can check for audi a5 key Fob sensor failure by examining the continuity of the sensor to the tachometer. Also, you can verify continuity between pin T55/49 of the ECU and pin T6a/1 of the instrument cluster (trace [79]) and between pin T6a/1 and pin T26a/12. You should see the resistance to be around 1000 ohms between these two points. This is a common part across the audi tt key replacement 80, 100, 200, UrS and RS2 range from 1985 MC through the 1997 UrS AAN and 1995 RS2 ADU so good parts could be found in wrecking yards.
