What's a Solenoid Valve? A solenoid valve is an electrically operated valve that's mainly used to regulate the flow of air or a liquid in pneumatic and hydraulic energy programs. It is mostly configured to a spool or a poppet that is in flip connected to a ferrous steel plunger that may be spring-centered or spring offset. The plunger itself moves inside a core tube of non-ferrous metallic that in turn is surrounded by a coil comprised comprising of electrical windings. An electromagnetic actuator (solenoid) and a valve body make up a solenoid valve, which is an on/off electromechanically actuated valve. The valve actuator is the solenoid-plunger assembly, which opens and closes the valve. This actuator can be configured in order that the plunger movement is proscribed to both opening or closing. Because there isn't any intermediate or in-between position, a solenoid cannot throttle stream.
