Inline Lever/Lever

A lever/lever door handle is a modern handle that can be installed on replacement or new doors. This style of handle is available in a variety of styles and finishes. A number of manufacturers make this type of handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle is different from the lever handles that are commonly found on doors. These handles can use a single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are typically utilized on UPVC doors with double glazing and come in a range of finishes and variations.

The handles have been tested to the minimum of 200k cycles and are available in a variety of finishes, including White, Silver, Chrome & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to corrosion. This provides the handle with an outstanding performance and durability to serve its intended use.

All UPVC levers for handles include a spindle and screws and can be mounted on a uPVC door. The backplate fixing centers of 211mm allow for a wider size of handle which can often be a benefit in replacing a defective or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. The levers for these handles have springs, which eliminate the problem of handles for doors that slide out of horizontal position when they are not being used.

When choosing the replacement UPVC handle and spindle, it is essential to match the PZ dimensions of both the multipoint lock and the uPVC door. This measurement is often called the "handle centre" or "cylinder centres which is a crucial aspect in ensuring that you have the correct handles.

Once you have the correct PZ size, you'll be required to make sure that the lever pads and push pads are in a suitable shape for the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant handles that you require for your doors. They typically have rectangular or round in shape, with an internal lever as well as an external push pad.

A euro cylinder needs to be measured accurately to ensure it is the correct size for your aluminium door handles. The cylinder should be measured from the central fixing screw hole to each end of the cylinder including the thumb turn if you have one. It is best to do this with the lock in place however if this is not possible, you may remove it to take measurements. It is crucial to ensure that there is no extension of the cylinder beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it vulnerable to lock snapping attacks.

The design of many modern cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. They are designed to decrease attack chances by forcing the cylinders to turn in a different direction. This helps stop the attack and keep your doors safe.

There are cylinders that are constructed to withstand snapping. This is a common occurrence on cylinders. A special tool is used to break the break line of the lock and the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a much faster and easier way to gain access than using the use of a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the burglary which could delay insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is positioned within the base of your door handle's backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution that returns the multipoint lock handles back to their original position after use.
