I went to Genting Highlands in Malaysia.
Thoughts on Sky Casino.
Part 1
About the membership card.
This membership card is almost essential.
I've been to many casinos, and I don't think customers need a membership card.
But this place is different.
You can't withdraw money from the slots without the membership card.
You can deposit and play at the slots.
But when it comes to withdrawing money, you have to insert the membership card.
There's no paper that comes out like that.
There is a visitor card that can only be used for two days.
There is a pole (?) quietly standing in the casino where you can get a visitor card.
But I was traveling alone.
If I didn't have a membership card, I wouldn't have been able to leave the slots, and I would have been at a loss, not knowing about the existence of the visitor card.
It's scary.
Part 2
About the drinks.
Casinos in various countries I've been to.
Drinks and bottled water are free.
But it's different here.
Bottled water is also charged.
Drinks are closed.
The bottled water you buy inside the casino is a little expensive, so I left the casino and bought some at a convenience store.

Baccarat cannot be squeezed.
Baccarat on the first floor.
The one you can't squeeze.
So the game progresses smoothly.
Um, there's no time to say, "Um--".
But I think the best part of baccarat is squeezing the dice, but the customers here don't seem to mind.
Or maybe they just think it's because you can't squeeze them?

There is no paper map to guide the facility.
This Genting Highlands facility has a casino, multiple hotels,
multiple large amusement parks, outdoor amusement parks, indoor amusement parks, lots of shops,
lots of places to eat... so it's quite difficult to get around the whole place.
So, I kept asking "Do you have a map?" at the Skyway boarding and disembarking points, at information desks, etc.
But there wasn't.
A facility this big would have a map, and it would be in multiple languages.
Part 5
About hotel check-in
I stayed at the First World Hotel, and when I went to the counter to check in,
the information desk staff strongly told me to use the automatic check-in machine.
This automatic check-in machine is also used in hotels in Las Vegas,
but it doesn't read my passport every time, or there's a card error.
I hate it.
As expected, it doesn't read my passport.
Grumbling.
Let's go to the counter.
What?
They say, "There's a fee if you do it at the counter!"
Seriously?
In the end, I tried many times and asked the staff at the automatic check-in machine for help... but I did it.
Part 6
About hotel amenities.
When I entered the hotel room, there were almost no amenities.
There was only a small soap and a gel that I couldn't tell if it was shampoo or body wash.
There was only one tissue, a pocket tissue.
I understand if it was a cheap and small hotel, but this class should have at least a toothbrush.
Well, I bought it at the drugstore downstairs, so it's fine.
This was the only toothbrush and toothpaste set. Well, it's fine.
I stayed for three nights, but the condition of the bath towels.
First day: 2 clean ones (one used)
Second day: 2 clean ones (the one from the day before was collected, and two new ones. One used)
Third day: 1 clean one (the one from the day before was not collected)
The bed was not made on the second and third days.
There was no doubt that the cleaning staff came every day judging from the state of the trash can.

Not many people in Japan have been to the casino at Genting Highlands.
A fair number of people knew that there was a casino in Genting Highlands in Malaysia.
But almost no one had actually been there.
There was very little information about Genting Highlands in either Lonely Planet or Rurubu (or was it Mapple?).
Why?
I imagine that the management of Genting Highlands doesn't care about marketing in Japan.
Of course.
If so many Chinese people flock to the place every day, even on weekdays, there's no need to go out of their way to market to other countries.
So, the conclusion is
It's all about efficient management.
Amazing!
