World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the template for upgrading a weapon is %, it will gain 3% of its previous damage every time it is upgraded.

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item level rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or impact while they're being used. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment with a slot for them; the item must be at the very least upgraded to blue level for a component to be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade item, thereby changing the name of the item upgrade it is applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.

The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-level version of the item will appear at the time of the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of the extent to which it will increase after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item upgrades can be costly and it's possible that the item will become obsolete or even break when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate the chances of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer the benefit of being reinserted into an item upgrades.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible to level 15.

You'll often see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a Glyph of the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the many Glyphs as well as some rare Glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that boosts a specific set of stat nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, so it is best to put Glyphs in strategic locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For example that a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, but also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The system of upgrading items lets players increase the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned you will be able to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When a player upgrade the equipment they have the original item will be replaced by a new item. The same armor will be upgraded to a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This can be a downside, as the item can be more expensive even if you don't need it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough tokens in order to do this. This will cause the Item upgrader Kit to be traded for a new one, which will come with an initial level and a totally different set of extra bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, however it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it could waste a lot of resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their gear. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or swims like a dolphin). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the max roll by a factor of 10. This item is extremely important in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of its unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original state, requiring the player to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with the effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item might have 5 upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. The player will still need to carry every piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the costs that are listed above.
