It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.

It's still a good deal particularly if your office or home has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save some money. Plus, it's very quiet and can work while you're at work, or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming, a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum cleaners uk vacuum/mop combos.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

The robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the boxy models of the competition. It's among our most attractive looking robot vacuum uk vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop to score 100% in our testing due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with an intuitive mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device which could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or in the evening as you try to sleep.

It's also quite expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing to put up with a little more noise and some additional cost, this is a very powerful two-in-one that will delight most.

Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes care of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank and cleans and dry its mop pads.

It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to create an automatic vacuum and mop spot-clean. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas to improve performance. The app comes with a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
