The best robot hoover [look at this now] can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

Make sure you regularly check your robot's brushes for hair that is tangled and large particles and wash them if needed. Certain models also automatically empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in a larger bin at the bottom. This reduces the amount fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've examined. They have top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobots (including the top model), they use smart mapping to create detailed floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like cords and furniture leg. The robots also feature a feature called Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our bare floor tests They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which hinder them from being our first choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.

However, it's a good choice to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also very quiet and can be used when you're at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has self-emptying docks, however. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it simple to clean and effective at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with an impressive suction system and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensor technology that can stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time and provide more efficient cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is ideal for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the entire house with only 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a good job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms with various flooring types, such as some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

The robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba unit than the boxy units of the rivals. It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic hoovers vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 in our testing due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite a noisy unit that could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or at night as you try to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and better-looking. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and some extra cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best automatic vacuum robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner like Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and refills the water tank, and cleans and drys mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to create floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection however, it wasn't reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to complete the task. It also comes with an option known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house based on how dirty these areas are.

If you have a bigger home, it is worth selecting a robot cleaner that comes with the option of cleaning zones or spots. This lets you tell the robot which area of your home needs to be cleaned using the app or voice command. A stairway mode is useful if you have a number of furniture. For families with busy schedules, a recharge function and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be very beneficial.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you would think from its price. It vacuums well, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating movement that is more efficient than most mop cleaners for robots that we've examined. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying base that can be washed.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or organize an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas for greater efficiency. The app has a range of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It features a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, however it is more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has an app that is less intuitive and has a tiny base station that can't double as a bin for emptying.
