They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our first option. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to become stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.

It's still a great deal particularly if your office or home has a lot of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. It's also quiet and operates when you're at work or in school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to take on dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it learns the layout of your home over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and set up zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that appears like a regular Roomba than the competition's compact models this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive looking models in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It features advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads autonomously).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It comes with an intuitive mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in the mornings prior to work or during the night when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and better-looking. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable however, it's going to cost you more and make more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuums that mop vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. The RX3 is more intelligent than its price would suggest. It is a good vacuum cleaner and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad that has a reciprocating motion, which is cleaner than the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or create the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance.
