This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for washing manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot vacuum cleaners best touches will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number clever features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these advanced features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering how well it performs otherwise.

The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many features which make it a good option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It can also tell when the mop pad is filled and notify you when it overflows, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It has many features that make it stand out.
