Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE Damage.

Components

Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment using the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor.
