A three-year-old child and a pensioner have been killed after a Porsche Boxster smashed into a Vaxuhall before flipping onto its side and bursting into flames.
Emergency services were called to the horrific scenes on a stretch of the M6 near Preston in Lancashire at around 5.50pm yesterday evening.
The motorway was closed in both directions for several hours, with closures remaining in place this morning, after the crash left two people dead and two others seriously injured.
Lancashire Constabulary says a three-year-old girl and 79-year-old man have been killed.
It is believed that the Porsche driven by the 79-year-old man collided with a Vauxhall Meriva in which the young girl was travelling, Lancashire Live reports.
